If you are using Thrive Theme Builder with ACF to create awesome listing sites, then you might need to also create dynamic links for your ACF text too.
For example, if you have a dynamic ACF price and you want people to be able to click on the price to show a form for if they qualify for the price.
That “Get a custom quote” text is ACF data that would show the Monthly payment of the car. We want people to click on it and fill out some credit information to see if they qualify for the displayed monthly payment.
Today I am going to show you how to do that.
The Order Matters When Linking ACF Text
Sometimes when you are trying to add a dynamic link to dynamic text, you would input the dynamic text first, then highlight it to input a dynamic link. This is how you might add a link to dynamic ACF text:
But when you try to insert a link to the final text that you want showing, this ends up happening:
I clicked on the text and nothing happened. Why isn’t the link working on the text?
Then I found out that you have to re-order the way you insert the link to the text.
So first, I used some default text, then I inserted the link:
After testing a preview of the page, the link inserted into the random text works.
Then I went back to my Thrive Architect editor to change the text:
After making that change, I went back to the preview of the page and the link was inserted in the ACF text.
So there you have it!
In case you were having trouble inserting a link for anything, including a popup (that’s what I used it for), you have to insert a link into any text first. Then change the text to the dynamic ACF text.
